Description
2020 Château Coutet “Les Demoiselles” Cuvée
by EARL Vignobles David Beaulieu is a beguiling and richly textured Bordeaux blend, crafted from approximately 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc. It unfurls with a layered perfume: ripe blackcurrant, plums, and red berries entwine with floral violets, warm nutmeg, cedar and a whisper of baking spices. The palate is polished and structured—silky fruit is firmly supported by tightly knit tannins and fresh acidity, finishing with a subtle note of walnut and cocoa that lingers through a satisfying aftertaste. Aged for around 18 months in French oak (roughly 20% new) and cement vats, the wine balances oak-derived texture with pure varietal fruit expression.
This wine is at its best alongside classic pairings like roast beef, lamb en croûte, game meats, or firm-aged cheeses such as Comté or Roquefort. Founded on century-old roots and certified organic since 2012, Château Coutet in Saint‑Émilion is family‑owned and biodynamically minded. The “Emeri Demoiselle” cuvée pays homage to the owner’s aunts who rejected pesticides, blending long-held tradition with modern organic viticulture and terroir-driven precision.
