Description
2023 Fleurie
by Julien Sunier is a captivating interpretation of Gamay, grown organically on granite-rich soils in one of Beaujolais’ most expressive crus. It opens with a radiant bouquet of violets, wild strawberries, crushed raspberries, and a hint of wet stone, exuding purity and finesse. On the palate, the wine glides with silk-like textures, layering tart red fruits and rose petals over a delicate spine of acidity and gentle tannins. Aged in a mix of used Burgundy barrels and concrete vats to preserve freshness and aromatics, it finishes long, floral, and mineral-driven. This Fleurie pairs effortlessly with roast chicken, charcuterie, or grilled salmon. Julien Sunier, a Burgundy-trained winemaker with a deep reverence for nature, produces wines with minimal intervention, allowing Gamay to speak in its most unadulterated and elegant form.
