A brand inspired by a legend. Aztec legend attributes the origins of agave and the creation of pulque to the fertile goddess Mayahuel. When Mayahuel eloped with the feathered snake God Quetzacoatl, the star demons descended to earth in pursuit. The lovers disguised themselves as a tree but Mayahuel was discovered and she fell to the wrath of the demons. Agave plants sprang forth from the sacred field where she was laid to rest. From their milky sap the gods created pulque which they gave to Quetzacoatl as a gift to comfort.
