Description
2016 Palici Brut Etna Spumante DOC
This is Mount Etna’s idea of a celebration, a sparkling wine born not from Champagne’s chalk but from Sicily’s fire and stone. Made entirely from Nerello Mascalese, it’s a volcanic take on elegance: bright, toasty, and full of energy. The kind of wine that turns any evening into an occasion, even if it’s just Tuesday. Aromas of custard, citrus peel, and freshly baked brioche mingle with subtle floral and mineral notes. 100% Nerello Mascalese grown on the north side of Etna in the contrada Pontale Palino at 650 metres above sea level. Volcanic soils rich in potassium and iron, crafted in the classic method, with a minimum of 36 months on the lees before disgorgement and an additional four months of bottle aging for texture and depth. Perfect as an aperitif or with seafood risotto, oysters, or tuna tartare. Also shines with fried calamari, tempura, or even buttered popcorn during movie night, trust us! Cantine Patria is one of the region’s most historic and heartfelt producers. The DiMiceli family, whose deep agricultural roots stretch back decades, established Patria as a testament to the land they call home. The name itself, Patria, meaning “homeland”, captures their devotion to Sicily’s soul, and particularly to Etna’s raw, untamed beauty.
