Overview
- Grapes: 100% Barbera d'Alba grapes from the Mosconi area
- Vineyards: Total area of 40 hectares situated in the best positions within the municipal boundaries of Monforte d’Alba, right in the heart of Langhe. The high quality of the products is guaranteed not only by meticulous vinification techniques and a constant search for improvement but also by a strenuous work performed in the vineyard, by short pruning and thinning out of grapes to obtain very low output. Southerly exposed, is over 60 years old and has an extremely low production.
- Vinification: Fermentation for approximately 15 days on contact with the peelings. It then refines in barrique for at least 18 months and in bottle for the following 6/8 months.
- Alcohol: 14% vol.
- Wine-Making: Fermentation on contact with peelings at controlled temperature approximately 14 days.
- Refining: Ages 12 months in barriques and as many months in bottles, before becoming available.
- Colour: ruby-red
- Aromas: The main characteristic of this wine is the high concentration, both for nose and palate. Perfumes are rich and smooth with pleasant spicy scents.
- Tasting Note: Its palate is full and elegant; it has great and noble qualities. To be served at a temperature between 16-18°C.
