Overview
- Grapes: 100% Aglianico del Vulture
- Area of Production: Barile localita, Pian di Carro. Ultimate expression of excellence and site for the production of Aglianico.
- Characteristics of the Soil: clay (clumpy) of volcanic origin. In particular very rich with a variety of minerals, such as, potassium, limestone and magnesium, perfectly balanced lava rock that provides a high capacity of drainage that allows the vine to accumulate a noticeable quantity of the elements that eventually will be the base of a fascinating complexity.
- Altitude: 450 metres above sea level
- Zone: Fertile hills with a unique micro climate and consistently caressed by a healthy wind and is in an excellent position facing the sun.
- Vinification: Traditionally in small, stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature and refined in stainless steel tanks and in the bottle.
- Harvest: End of October
- Alcoholic strength: 13.5% vol.
- Colour: Typical burgundy and pomegranate colour with splendid purple hues.
- Aromas: Rich and favourable to the senses. Fruity aroma with optimum plumpness and muscle. Hints of ripe cherry, chocolate and licorice.
- Tasting Note: Excellent measure of taste and smell alike. Taste confirms description of the nose with soft, earthy mineral notes, great tannins and good ripe bush fruit.
- Recommended With: Grilled meats, stews and game.
